Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

"As an ice hockey player, I find ball hockey to be competitive and very fun. For folks who've never played hockey, it is an easy and great way to pick up the game. Every time I play I get a great workout without it ever feeling like a workout. It hits a whole different muscle group than Ice hockey, or even running does."  -Connor M., Player

SBHL is a recreational league of mixed free agents. Just like a fun game of street hockey is a mixed bag of neighbors, so is this league just with the wider community. 4. What are gameplay tips for new players?

General Tips for Gameplay:

  • Get open! Use your space, don't cluster up
  • Move the ball - pass, pass, pass to create plays
  • Ricochet passes off the walls to get around defenders

  • When playing behind the opposing net, fake directions to trick their goalie
  • During offensive drives, pass it back to the last guy advancing for an open shot!
